KARACHI, Feb 4: Saddar Town administration removed more than 300,000 offal of sacrificial animals from its jurisdiction during the first two days of Eid.

According to a press release issued by the town on Wednesday, the administration staff collected maximum number of offal during Eid.

The offal removal task was also witnessed by the governor. During the visit of governor, Naib Nazim Tariq Hasan, DCO Mir Husain Ali, Nazim Saddar Town Farooq Memon Fariya and TMO Khalid Mehmood were also present.

The governor appreciated the efforts of town administration for providing civic facilities to the area people during Eid.

Town Nazim Farooq Fariya said that the offal were lifted from Burns Road, Saddar, Ranchore Lines, Ramsawami, Old City, Kharadar, and other areas. He said sanitary staff of the town remained busy to pick up offal with the help of dumper loaders, tractors, bob cats and open trucks.

Mr Fariya pointed out that town administration had also sprayed pesticides, lime and bleaching powder on a number of roads and streets within the jurisdiction of the town.

Offal disposal: Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town administration disposed off more than 60,000 offal of sacrificial animals on the first two days of Eid-ul-Azha.

According to a statement issued by the town, the municipal administration buried 25,000 offal in Block 14 of Gulistan-i-Jauhar for converting the offal into fertilizer. Chemicals had been spread over these offal, which would turn into a high quality fertilizer after a six-month process, it stated.

The fertilizer would be used in developing parks, which would save millions of rupees. -APP
