SHIKARPUR, Jan 24: Provincial Minister for Population Welfare Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh has said the city has fallen prey to the inefficiency of the taluka council but he will try to rectify the situation in the interest of the citizens.

Talking to journalists here on Thursday evening, he said he had approached the federal and provincial governments for getting special funds for development works as well as to resolve the sanitation and drainage problems faced by the people.

STRIKE: A token hunger strike was observed by Sindh People's Youth Organization activists here at the Lakhi Gate Tower Chowk on Friday to demand the release of Asif Ali Zardari and withdrawal of cases against Benazir Bhutto.
