NAWABSHAH, Jan 24: Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Shoaib Bukhari has said there are only two governments in the country - federal and district - whereas the provincial government hangs in the balance.

Talking to journalists at the Circuit House here on Friday after listening to the problems of the people, he said district governments had full powers but in case they needed help, the provincial government would render it to them.

He also announced that Rs23 million had been allocated for a 50-bed hospital in Manuabad and added that the amount would be released in April.

Regarding appointment of a private person by the district government as sanitation and monitoring in charge of the taluka council, he said there was no provision in the Sindh Local Government Ordinance regarding such appointments.

He directed the district coordinating officer to send a detailed report of the matter to the chief minister.

Mr Bukhari said that the Sindh government was working smoothly.
