RAWALPINDI, Jan 24: One person was killed and another injured on Friday after their truck plunged into a ravine on Adiala Road on Friday, police said.

Mohammad Ilyas and his brother were going to Sheikhupura by tuck when the vehicle slipped off the road and plunged into a ravine. As a result, Mohammad Ilyas was killed, while his brother, who was driving the vehicle, suffered injuries, the police said.

Meanwhile, robbers looted Rs300,000 and mobile telephone sets from a chemist shop at The Mall on Friday night, police said.

Abdul Sattar, the shop owner, told the Cantonment police that four persons entered his shop and, at gunpoint, forced the customers and shop employees to give up cash and mobile telephone sets.

The culprits escaped after snatched the cash and two mobile telephone sets.
