TOBA TEK SINGH, Jan 17: Gojra lawyers observed strike on Saturday to protest over the demolition of the chamber of a former general secretary of the Tehsil Bar Association by the TMA staff.

Gojra Bar officials said at a meeting that the TMA staff demolished the chamber of Anwar Mansoor Goraya following the passage of a Bar resolution against Tehsil Nazim Chaudhry Khalid Javed Warraich.

They alleged that the TMA staff demolished the chamber at the tehsil courts in spite of the fact that they were shown stay order issued by a court.

On the other hand, Nazim Khalid Javed claimed that the some chambers had been constructed on the TMA land so he had sent the TMA staff to demolish the same and no stay order was shown to them.

He criticized Gojra ASP and city police SHO for 'misbehaving' with the TMA staff.

Meanwhile, a Bar delegation met District Nazim Chaudhry Ashfaq at Toba Tek Singh.

Led by advocate Mian Naseer Ahmad (also a Gojra union council Nazim), the members of the delegation apprised Chaudhry Ashfaq of the situation.

The District Nazim assured the lawyers that he would support their demands.
