KARACHI, Jan 3: Three kidnappers were arrested and six people, who had been kidnapped for ransom on Jan 1, were recovered by the police with the help of the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee on Saturday.

According to the CPLC, Aslam Lodhi, a businessman, had been invited by one of his employees Zafar in Landhi. Mr Lodhi along with Mohammad Aslam, Waheed, Rashid, Amir and Asif went to the dinner where Zafar along with others kidnapped them. The family contacted Mr Lodhi when he did not return next morning. Zafar attended the mobile phone and told the Lodhi's family that they all had been kidnapped and the kidnappers were demanding Rs500,000 as ransom for release. His relatives told about the incident to the CPLC.

Later, a police-CPLC team raided the hide out in Murtaza Bhutto Colony. All the captives were freed and kidnappers Zafar, Shaukat and Akbar Ali were arrested.
