Vajpayee due today

ISLAMABAD, Jan 2: Indian Premier Atal Behari Vajpayee will be re-visiting Islamabad after nearly a quarter century when he arrives here on Saturday to attend the 12th Saarc summit.

Mr Vajpayee's first visit to Pakistan was as India's foreign minister in 1978 under Prime Minister Morarji Desai.

This will be his third official visit and second as prime minister.

Mr Vajpayee last visited Pakistan four years back when he travelled to Lahore in the inaugural bus service between New Delhi and Lahore.
