NAWABSHAH, May 31: Cardiac patients from Nawabshah, Naushahro Feroze, Sanghar, Khairpur, Dadu and Sukkur have been facing many difficulties due to the faulty echo cardiac machine at the cardiology ward of the People’s Medical College Hospital, Nawabshah.

This correspondent visited the cardiac unit and observed that the machine was in a very poor condition and most of the times remained inoperative.

Cardiologist Dr A.D. Memon said that the machine was in working condition but it was in very poor state. He added that he was managing it to facilitate patients as the most of them came from far-flung areas.

Patients admitted to the cardiac unit told this scribe that doctors had got the ward renovated but if echo cardiac machine remained inoperative then what would be the use this renovation.

RAILWAY TICKETS: Pre-reserved tickets are being sold openly by railway staff at Nawabshah railway station.

A lower AC ticket No. 024110 dated May 17 from Nawabshah to Lahore for berth No.31/32 was booked duly entered at 11.30 hrs for May 22.

The same ticket entry was written in reservation register.

The same ticket was re-entered for May 24 by 13-up. As the ticket could not be black marketed upto May 24, the ticket was sold by a coolie to a passenger, Mohammad Ali Khan, on actual fare.
