Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, April 20: Berthing activity on the Karachi Port on Wednesday was fairly brisk where 10 ships were berthed to load cement and naphtha and unload containers and vehicles, according to KPT sources. The ships, which were berthed included Corin Thaikos, Iran Sattari, Sinar Java, Gao He and APL Jeddah to unload and load containers, Aquarius Leader to offload vehicles, Barge Sapta-1 to load cement, Rising One to load naphtha, and Johar to unload crude oil.

Four ships, Iran Sattari, Kota Indah, Aquarius Leader and Lady Nugad departed on Wednesday, while Johar, Hyundai Stride, Hyderabad, Butet and Corin Thaikos are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves rose to 92,243 tons owing to larger handling of the liquid cargo comprising 18,604 tons of export tonnage, including 8,110 tons of rice, 1,407 tons of cement and 73,639 tons of import cargo.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Minsa, with 3,500 tons of palm oil, Kota Teraju and Astor, with containers, Darya Sur, with general cargo and Dina Queen to load 3,800 tons of cement.
