KARACHI, April 19: The textile industry leaders have offered Bangladesh to meet its garment sector’s raw material need and suggested drawing up some benchmarking arrangement system between the two textile bodies to ensure quality and pricing of textile products. In a meeting between the visiting team of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) led by MA Awal Khan and the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) headed by Asif Saeed on Monday the issues related to building up of cooperation in textile manufacturers of the two countries were discussed.

Bangladesh exports about $4 to 5 billion of garments every year and it has a big appetite for cloth and fabrics for which Pakistan has enough potential. The Aptma chief informed Awal Khan of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association about the 2010 vision of Pakistani textile manufacturers.

The BTMA leader invited Pakistani textile operators to take advantage of his country’s access in EU and the US market.
