KARACHI, May 31: The possibilities for earth construction in Pakistan were discussed at a two-day workshop on “Earth Technologies in Pakistan”, organized by Aga Khan Planning and Building Service, Pakistan (AKPBS,P), in collaboration with INDUS Earth.

The purpose of the workshop was to explore such construction possibilities mainly for providing access to housing, specifically for poor rural communities.

The workshop was a part of feasibility study being undertaken by Oliver Moles, Project Manager of a French-based organization with the support of French Embassy in Pakistan.

Participants of the workshop included institutions like NESPAK, Council for Works and Housing Research, AKPBS-P, INDUS Earth and faculties and students of Universities including Karachi, NED and Mehran.—APP
