Mansoor lifts trophy: Squash

PESHAWAR, March 28: Top seed Mansoor Zaman clinched the title after defeating Farrukh Zaman 3-2 in the final of the All-Pakistan squash cup played at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex one Monday.

The final lasted 77 minutes and went to the full distance.

Mansoor took the first set 14-12 after a see-saw battle for supremacy. He also claimed the second set 11-7 but Farrukh cam back strongly by winning the third and fourth sets 7-11 and 9-11 to take the final into the deciding fifth set.

Farrukh ran out of steam in the final set and eventually lost 11-5.

NWFP Chief Minister Muhammad Akram Khan Durrani gave away winners trophy with a cash prize of Rs. 40,000 to Mansoor Zaman and runners-up trophy and cash prize of Rs. 25000 to Farrukh Zaman.—APP
