PESHAWAR, March 28: An accountability court on Monday remanded three officials of police and customs department in the custody of National Accountability Bureau for 10 days. The accused, DPO Dilawar Khan Bangash, customs inspector Rehmat Shah and inspector of Crimes Investigation Department Munawar Khan were produced before the court after expiry of their earlier remand. The accused, who had been arrested by the NAB on March 8, were earlier remanded twice in the custody of the NAB for 10 days each. An official of the NAB appeared before the court and requested for further custody, stating that investigation against the accused was still in progress. The NAB had charged the officials with receiving a bribe of Rs2 million from a contraband smuggler, Mohammad Tahir alias Malange, after he was arrested during a shootout on May 24, 2004.
