KARACHI, March 27: The deafening silence of the Muslim Ummah over the Russian atrocities in Chechnya shows that no Muslim country is ready for a united struggle, said the Chairman of the Pakistan Chechnya Commission for Peace and Friendship, Nazir Ahmed Channa.

Speaking to a gathering to observe the death anniversary of Hazrat Noor Jahan Abul Mughais Hussein Bin Mansoor Hallaj Baghdadi, at a local hotel, he said the Muslim world today needed a Mansoor Hallaj.

He said the slogan of ‘Unul-Haq’ given by Mansoor Hallaj was a symbol of truth, peace, love and humanity, and these values would live forever.

Former federal minister Mir Nawaz Khan Marwat said those who worked for a great cause always faced atrocities of the rulers of their times, adding that Mansoor Hallaj would live in history forever.

He was confident that there would be victory for Islam one day in Chechnya and Daghistan.

Prof Khiyal Afaqi said there was a big difference between a mulla and a sufi, adding that unlike a mullah, a sufi never wavered on his ideology.

He said a sufi made his links with God by breaking linkage with the world. He said the life of Mansoor Hallaj was a bright pathfinder for every true Sufi.

The meeting through a resolution asked the government to recognize Chechnya and establish diplomatic links with it. It also offered fateha for Mansoor bin Hallaj and Chechen leader Arslan Maskhadov. — PPI
