ISLAMABAD, March 26: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has repaired roads damaged during the recent rains mainly in the northern parts of the country. According to an official report issued on Saturday, in the NWFP no further rain or flood damages have yet been reported. The regional office has cleared most of the road portions from minor damages. Major repairs will however be undertaken with the arrangement of funds. Huge hill slip and boulders had fallen on the main carriageway at Karak due to which traffic remained suspended. The road has now been partially cleared and traffic flow restored. In Balochistan, the highway department restored the road from Quetta to Chaman for traffic, while the Quetta-Sibbi route has also been opened for traffic.
The road section between Chamaza-Qilla Saifullah had suffered severe scouring in embankment due to heavy rainfall, but it has now been restored for traffic. Similarly, the road section between Kuchlac-Mughal Kot has been opened to traffic.—APP
