KARACHI, March 23: Top seed Khalid Ali Nazeer booked his place in the final in the men’s singles when he fought off a spirited challenge by Nasir Mushtaq 6-2, 6-4, in the Sindh ranking tennis championship played on Wednesday.

Losing the first set 6-2, fifteen-year-old Nasir tried his level best to draw abreast 1-1 in the second set, but he sadly ended up on the losing side.

In another match, M. Manzeer reached the last four stage when he beat Ali Abdullah 6-4, 6-1.

However, Nasir had the satisfaction of reaching the boys Under-15 final beating his doubles partner Ghulam Abbas Panju 7-5, 6-2. The first set went the full distance with both players playing attacking tennis but Ghulam ran steam in the next set and surrendered the set and match 6-2. Nasir will now take on Jahangir Rashid, who had work hard in overcoming Zuhair Raza 6-4, 6-3.
