MIANWALI, March 20: Intermittent rain, which started in the district on Friday night, has damaged standing crops spreading over a large area. Several mud-houses also have been washed away by the rain and 45-minute hailstorm of Friday, but fortunately no casualty took place. Showers continued to fall with intervals on Sunday. According to reports, Isakhel was the worst affected tehsil where rain has flattened standing crops of wheat, mustard and gram. Low-lying areas were under knee-deep water till last reports came in. Hill torrents have also been reported in some areas. MPA Amanatullah Khan Shadikhel visited the affected areas whose people urged the government to offer relief by declaring these calamity-hit.
