BAHAWALPUR, March 18: Mismanagement marred the prize distribution ceremony of the Cholistan desert jeep rally as most of the invitees were not allowed to enter the venue on Thursday night. Organizers changed the venue from Noor Mahal to Darbar Mahal at the eleventh hour creating inconvenience to guests and invitees. Even the reporters were refused entry on the plea that the venue was already overcrowded. The management was blamed for issuing invitation cards beyond seating capacity at Darbar Mahal. Virtually, the entry was banned after 7.00pm. INAUGURATED: Federal Minister of State for Health Begum Shahnaz Sheikh has announced a Rs2.5 million financial grant for the children ward No 2 and other wards of the Bahawal Victoria Hospital. The state minister made this announcement while inaugurating a central oxygen supply unit at BVH’s children ward here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, she said the government was making solid measures for the provision of health care facilities to the general public.

Philanthropist Naseem Jaffery donated the oxygen supply unit and other medical equipment to the children ward. He called upon the well-to-do people to participate in this noble cause.

With the establishment of this unit, the oxygen will be supplied round-the-clock to 15 beds of children ward’s ICU. — Correspondent
