SWABI, March 18: District and tehsil nazims of Swabi on Friday demanded cancellation of the transfer order of District Coordination Officer Akbar Khan, saying that four DCOs had been transferred in just one year. In separate statements, District Nazim Jehan Zeb Khan, tehsil Swabi Nazim Masood Jabbar and tehsil Chota Lahore Nazim Haji Mohammad Amin said that transfer of DCOs in quick succession was hampering smooth functioning of the local government system in the district.

The nazims said it was highly deplorable that the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal government again transferred the DCO and accused it of meddling in the administrative affairs of the district government. They alleged that the provincial government had been targeting all those officials who were opposed to the MMA policies. —Correspondent
