All is well with Inzamam

KOLKATA, March 16: Rumours that Pakistan captain Inzamamul Haq had gone down with a back injury were dismissed on Wednesday by team manager Saleem Altaf.

“Inzamam is fine and will take the field tomorrow,” he said after Inzamam had to leave the field on the first day of the second cricket Test at the Eden Gardens. Inzamam, fielding in the covers region took a difficult catch of Virender Sehwag after lunch and then went off and did not return prompting rumours that the captain’s back had begun to trouble him again.

“He had a stomach ache and threw up when he came off, but I spoke to him in the evening and he is now fine.” Inzamam had to sit out two of the three Test matches on Pakistan’s recent tour to Australia because of a recurring back problem.
