KARACHI: Trader shot dead

KARACHI, March 15: A fish trader was shot dead while resisting armed suspects in Mauripur on Tuesday.

Police said Khursheed Alam, 28, was heading to work, in Mohammadi Colony when armed suspects intercepted him and tried to snatch cash he was carrying.

Police said as Khursheed offered resistance, armed suspects shot him and fled. The victim was rushed to Civil Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

SUICIDE: A young man committed suicide in New Karachi on Tuesday. Police said Habib Ahmed, 29, committed suicide by hanging himself in his house in Arafat town.

Police said that the victim left a suicide note behind saying he is ending his life due to some domestic problems and no one else is responsible for his death.

Police shifted the body to Abbasi Hospital for legal formalities. The deceased was in the poultry business, police added.

ACCIDENT: An elderly man died in a road accident near Lasbela on Tuesday.

Police said seventy-year-old man was hit by a speeding vehicle near Lasbela chowk. The victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital where died during treatment.

WOUNDED: Three employees of KESC suffered burn wounds while carrying some repair work near Mai Kolachi bypass.

Police said Zulfiqar, Haroon and Shujaat were repairing a PMT when it burst into flames.

The three suffered burns and were rushed to Civil Hospital.
