MOHALI, March 11: India have retained their 14-member squad for the second Test against Pakistan starting at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on March 16.

The national selectors again ignored middle-order batsman Mohammad Kaif, keeping faith with Vangipurappu Laxman and left-hander Yuvraj Singh.

Laxman, who was under pressure going into the match after scoring only two half-centuries in his last 15 innings, struck 58 after recovering from a shaky start.

Squad: Saurav Ganguly (captain), Rahul Dravid (vice-captain), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, Vangipurappu Laxman, Dinesh Karthik (wicketkeeper), Irfan Pathan, Anil Kumble, Lakshmipathy Balaji, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra, Yuvraj Singh.—Reuters
