MIRPURKHAS, March 9: A former director, primary education, Mirpurkhas, Abdul Rahim Lakho, allegedly misappropriated Rs30,000 of the education department funds in 2000 in connivance with EDO office accountant Mir Mohammad Rind and clerks Mohammad Ishaq and Mohammad Iqbal.

This was disclosed in a letter by the director of the Anti-Corruption Establishment, Karachi, to Khalid Nizamani, circle in charge of the Mirpurkhas ACE, a few days ago directing him for an inquiry into the matter.

Reports said the matter was presented at a high level meeting before the inquiry was ordered. When contacted, Mr Nizamani said the inquiry into the matter had been started.

PROCESSION: Primary teachers of the Digri taluka under the aegis of All-Sindh Primary Teachers Association took out a procession outside the press club on Tuesday in protest against non-issuing of posting orders to 42 primary teachers.

They were reinstated along with teachers of other districts. PST taluka president Abdul Rauf and vice president Dur Mohammad Shalmani said a political party had been obliged and 63 teachers of Mirpurkhas had been issued posting orders while 42 teachers of Digri were deprived of their right.
