MANSEHRA, March 8: The whereabouts of a leader of the Almi Majlis Tahaffuz Khatm-i-Nabuwat, Maulana Rafiqur Rehman Qamar, who went missing on Monday, are still unknown.

Maulana Qamar, who belongs to the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Sami), had left his house on the Kutcheri Road to lead the Fajr prayers in the Jamia Masjid Kanghar but he did not reach the mosque or return home.

His son Sahibzada Ihzazur Rehman told newsmen that when his family tried to contact him on his cell phone, a stranger attended the call. He said that at about 1.30pm Maulana Qamar talked to him and said he had been arrested, he was safe and he would return home in a day or two.

Ihzazur Rehman said there was no response from the Maulana's cell phone later. Police have denied that the Maulana has been arrested.
