KARACHI, March 8: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said here on Tuesday he had discussed with Governor Ishratul Ibad, Chief Minister Arbab Rahim and Imtiaz Ahmad Sheikh the political situation in Sindh and investigation into allegations of corruption.

"The matter is under investigation," he pointed out and said he had called for finalization of the report as soon as possible. Answering a question during a meeting with senior journalists at the governor's house, he said that Mr Sheikh had asked him to depute the PM's Inspection Team for investigation into the allegations.

The matter was already under investigation and, therefore, there was no need for unnecessary speculations, he added. About conflicts between the district and provincial governments, the prime minister said that he wanted the district, provincial and federal governments to work in tandem.

He stressed the need for political maturity and pointed out that the federal government had good working relationship with the MMA government in the NWFP. He said tolerance and respect for each other's views were important aspects of democratic dispensation.
