PESHAWAR, March 4: Military authorities gave final touches to a massive multi-million-rupee beautification plan for Peshawar Cantonment on Friday.

A meeting, held at the 7th Division and under the chairmanship of General Officer Commanding Maj-Gen Mohammad Akram Sahi, approved the overall concept of beautification of Peshawar Cantonment presented by Fanoon (Pvt) Ltd, a group of professional architects and horticulturists.

Station Commander Brig Salim, Peshawar Cantonment chief executive Fida Hussain, City Municipal & Development Department director-general Mohammad Sareer attended the meeting. A three-member team of Save Peshawar Movement was also present.

The meeting was informed that the beautification, landscaping and building of monuments and lamps would be carried out in four phases over a period of two years. The project cost that runs into millions of rupees would be recovered through leasing out of billboards in the Peshawar Cantonment area.
