KARACHI, Feb 23: The seventh joint convention of the Pakistan-India Peoples Forum will be held from Feb 25 to 28 in New Delhi.

An announcement by the secretary-general of the Forum, Anis Haroon, said it would be the largest convention since the inception of the Forum in 1994.

More than 700 delegates are participating from both countries. They come from different cities and represent various walks of life. Ms Haroon said that from Pakistan around 300 delegates would cross the Wagah border on foot on Feb 24 to attend the convention.

She further stated that the Pakistan Chapter of the Forum welcomed the thaw in the Pakistan-India relations as was evident by the recent agreements on Muzaffarabad-Srinagar bus service, Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline and plans for opening of the Khokhrapar-Monabao rail link. Ms Haroon said she hoped that the two governments would keep up the momentum of this progress. - APP
