LAHORE, Feb 19: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday leaked out the names of the Pakistan team for India to the electronic media hours before the official announcement was made.

The national selection committee, coach Bob Woolmer and skipper Inzamamul Haq attended the meeting which concluded at 2pm after two hours. The print media waited at the Qadhafi Stadium to receive the list of the team but were surprised to learn that the electronic media had already announced it.

A strong protest was lodged to the PCB official who denied their involvement in the leakage. "I assure you that the team was not leaked from this building (Qadhafi Stadium) and I had conducted a through inquiry," a PCB director Abbas Zaidi said.

Asked then who were the people doing this job from out of the building, Zaidi replied "I can not mention any name." Later, the chief selector Wasim Bari assured that after holding meeting he went straight to the PCB chairman to get the approval and did not talk to anyone during this period.

"The members of my selection committee also remained in Qadhafi Stadium," he said. Incidentally the coach and the captain were the first who left the Qadhafi Stadium after the meeting.

Meanwhile, the first meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ad hoc committee, held on Saturday, could not set a guidelines for future as it had been dealing with matters related to Indian tour.

PCB director cricket operations Saleem Altaf said that another meeting of the ad hoc committee would now be held on Feb 24, this time at Karachi. He said that he had not received the agenda of the meeting. The meeting was to be held at Karachi on Feb 18 but postponed because the PCB was dealing with its Indian counterpart on certain conditions of the tour.
