KARACHI, Feb 18: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal on Friday criticized the government's refusal to issue identity cards to those who migrated from the East Pakistan and urged the government to fulfill its promise in this regard.
"Issuance of ID cards and passports is a basic right of the people of Orangi", MMA MNA Mohammad Laiq Khan said while speaking at a public gathering in Orangi. He criticized the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, and said it approaches people at times of general elections and after its success and formation of the government, it forgets all its promises and pledges.
He praised City Nazim for transforming Karachi once again into a city of lights, reviving its glories and carrying out development works in an extraordinary manner.
"CDGK established lease camps, started reconstruction of Shahrah-i-Orangi and Shahra-i-Qadafi, renovation of Banaras Chowrangi, flyovers, colleges and schools in Orangi Town," he added. JI leader Muhammad Aminullah paid tribute to the MMA for raising the issue of ID cards in National Assembly and Senate. -PPI
