NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Feb 16: Activists of the Sindh National Party, rickshaw drivers and labourers took out a procession here on Wednesday in protest against detention of three activists and registration of a drug case against one of them the Bhirya police. The procession, led by Khan Dahri, started from outside the press club and ended at Allahwala Chowk.

TPO Yahya Bullo reached there and the protesters complained to him that police had arrested three workers, Nazir Chandio, Haji Zulfiqar Chandio and Mumtaz Chandio a few days back from the bus stop in Bhirya where they had gone to dispatch household items of Shaman's brother, a government official who had been transferred from Bhirya.

The protesters alleged that ASI Abdul Razzaq Thebo forcibly took out Rs3,200 from the pocket of Zulfiqar and released him and Nazir but Mumtaz was implicated in a false drug case.

Later, a delegation of the protesters held a meeting with DPO Iqbal Dara who constituted a committee, headed by the TPO, to investigate into the matter and report by Friday.

ARRESTED: The Mohabbatdero police arrested three men and recovered one pistol and two axes from their possession near Siyal Mori on Tuesday night. The accused were identified as Ameer Bukhsh Khushk, Shahbaz Nawaz Machhi and Kamal Khushk.
