THATTA, Feb 11: Ulema of different schools of thought continued their protests on Friday against what they called 'inhospitable attitude' of Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim for not meeting them.
A procession was taken out in Thatta which started from Imambargah Boturab and after marching through the main roads converged outside the Thatta press club. Maulana Nazim Ali Azad, Dr Abdul Hussain Shah and Dr Safdar Shah led the protesters.
Speaking on the occasion, they criticized the attitude of Sindh chief minister for not meeting Ulema who waited outside the CM house for two hours. They condemned the threats which the chief minister gave to Maulana Mirza Yousuf Hussain on phone.
They alleged that Arbab Rahim had no manners and he was 'misfit' and 'unreliable' man to be entrusted a responsible slot of the Sindh chief minister. They demanded a judicial inquiry against the chief minister for fomenting religious hatred.
Protest processions were also taken out in Bulri Shah Karim, Mirpur Bathoro, Jati, Var Ghulamullah and Jhoke Sharif. Maulana Asghar Hingoro, Ali Nawaz Qudoosani, Mushtaq Hussain Shah and Sajjad Hyder demanded that Arbab Ghulam Rahim should tender unconditional apology from religious scholars and their disciples for hurting their sentiments.
