PESHAWAR, Feb 1: The National Democratic Front has urged the government to put an end to the ongoing military operations in South Waziristan and Balochistan and try to find a political solution of the problem through dialogue, said a press release on Tuesday.

The call was made at a meeting of the party which held here on Tuesday under the party's provincial coordinator Justice (retired) Burhanuddin. The meeting expressed concern over the military operation against the civilians and said that all the stakeholders should involved in the dialogue process to resolve the problem.

It said that the army generals and politicians were issuing statements regarding these military operations to secure points, while the local population was facing extreme hardships.

It said the operation in Wana was creating tension between the tribesmen and the government, which was a bad omen for the integrity of the country. It also asked the government to change the leadership which had been tackling the matter till now and the new leadership be given the task to seek a pragmatic solution to the problems.
