MANDI BAHAUDDIN, Jan 31: Over 100 students of Government college for Women may lose their first academic year as the principal has declined to send admissions violating the instructions of the education board.

The Punjab government and the Gujranwala Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) had issued instructions to all institutions to send admissions of all students with 'F' grade in matriculation examination and directed the students to pass that subject before the second year examination, said an official of the EDO's (education) Office on condition of anonymity here on Monday.

Meanwhile, students said the principal had refused to send admissions despite they had deposited the fee with the BISE through the same college during their admission to the first year class.

Parents of the students and citizen circles have condemned the 'whimsical' decision of the principal and demanded implementation on the board's guidelines. When contacted, the college principal was not available for comments.
