PML-N's LB polls strategy

BAHAWALPUR, Jan 30: The PML-N leaders discussed the future strategy to contest the local government elections at a meeting held here on Sunday at the residence of Begum Parveen Masood Bhatti.

The party has decided to field its candidates in the election of all tiers - union council to district council levels. The activists stressed the need for complete unity in their ranks in the larger interest of the party and the country.

Those who participated in the meeting included MPAs Parveen Masood Bhatti, Malik Muhammed Iqbal Channar, former MNAs Seth Aqeelur Rehman, Chaudhry Mumtaz Ahmed Jajja and former parliamentary secretary Samiullah Chaudhry.

ELECTED: Shahid Akhtar Baloch and Akram Nasir on Sunday were elected president and secretary-general of Bahawalpur press club for the year 2005. Other elected office bearers are: senior vice-president Muhammad Hamid Gulzar, vice-president Qari Ataullah Azad, joint secretary Naseer Ahmed Nasir, finance secretary Riaz Ahmed Sheikh and office secretary Muhammad Tanveer Hassan.

Those elected executive council members are: Fazal Hameed, Rana Abdul Salam, Amjad Qureshi, M. Zafar Khan, Afzaal Hameed, Ahmed Ali Baloch, Taimoor Nasir and Zahid Ali.
