LAHORE, Jan 30: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has announced that Lahore will host another Marathon on Jan 29 in 2006.

The chief minister made this announcement while addressing at the concluding ceremony of the first Lahore Marathon held here on Sunday.

He said the Lahore Marathon had been formally included in the world race calendar and now this event would be held regularly in Pakistan every year. Holding of the Marathon, he said, was a historic event.

Some mistakes might have been committed as hosting of such a big event for the first time was not an easy job. He announced an amount of Rs50,000 for special children who took part in the race. The chief minister thanked the organizers, participants of the race and people of Lahore for making the event successful. He later gave away the prizes.
