MMA, ARD to hold separate meetings

ISLAMABAD, Jan 28: The secretary-general of both the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD) Iqbal Zafar Jhagra on Friday met Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) leader Liaquat Baloch and reviewed the current political situation in the country.

Both Mr Jhagra and Mr Baloch expressed their serious concern over the law and order situation in Balochistan, tribal region, and Northern Areas and opposed the use of force in these sensitive places.

The PML-N and the MMA leaders said Gen Pervez Musharraf was an "illegal and unconstitutional" president and the time had come to launch a joint movement to oust the regime.
