KARACHI, Jan 26: The International Customs Day was observed in a befitting manner at the Customs House here on Wednesday.

The day's celebration started with the hoisting of national flag by Collector of Customs Ms Musarrat Jabeen at a ceremony attended by officials and employees of the Customs in a large number.

A band played national anthem and songs whereas a squad of Customs jawans presented a march past. Besides, an elocution competition was also organized on The Importance of Integrity, Efficiency and Courtesy in Life for the students of Customs Public School.

Quratul-Ain of class-X, Anum of class-IX and Razia Ejaz of class-IX were judged 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders, respectively. They were awarded certificates, cash prizes and trophies.

At the photo exhibition arranged on the occasion, pictures of large quantity of narcotics, valuables and commercial items seized by the collectorate customs were put on displayed.

Among other events was a seminar on Customs and International Fraud. The programme ended with the distribution of certificates among officers for their outstanding performance which was followed by Bara Khana.
