LARKANA, Jan 25: The Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz has opposed the launching of an army operation in Balochistan and demanded withdrawal of troops from the province.
Speaking at a protest procession here on Tuesday, party chairman Bashir Qureshi claimed that establishment of cantonments and the Gwadar project were aimed at converting Balochs into a minority in their own province.
Urging Sindhi, Baloch and Pakhtoon leaders to unite for their rights, he accused Punjab of usurping rights of the smaller provinces and oppressed nations. He also opposed establishment of a cantonment in Larkana.
Mr Qureshi demanded that people involved in the criminal assault on a lady doctor in Sui should be arrest and awarded deterrent punishment. Opposing the greater Thal canal and the Kalabagh dam, he called for shelving what he called the anti-Sindh projects.
He criticized the poor law and order situation, high unemployment ratio and shortage of irrigation water in Sindh. He said outsiders should be expelled from the province.
JSQM divisional organizer Athar Soomro, Momin Odho, Momin Samo and other party leaders thanked the people for observing a peaceful strike on Monday to show their solidarity with Balochs.
DADU: Activists of the JSQM took out a procession here on Tuesday in protest against any army operation in Balochistan and not arresting the accused of Dr Shazia case.
They marched on different roads of the town and held a demonstration outside the press club. JSQM leader Ghulam Hussain Lund and Sarfaraz Korejo led the protesters.
HYDERABAD: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, led by Murtaza Mughal, Dhani Bux Abro, Shahzad Memon and Shahid Soomro staged a token hunger strike outside the press club on Tuesday.
They were protesting against the criminal assault on a lady doctor in Sui and any army operation in Balochistan. JSQM leaders demanded that the tormentors of the lady doctor should be publicly hanged, any army operation in Balochistan should be stopped and the province be given adequate royalty for its gas.
