ISLAMABAD, Jan 25: President Gen Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz have felicitated their Indian counterparts on the occasion of the Indian Republic Day, which falls on Wednesday.

In his message to Indian President Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam, President Musharraf said that Pakistan was firmly committed to the establishment of tension-free and good neighbourly relations with India.

The president said: "I sincerely hope that our two countries would be able to resolve all outstanding issues including Jammu and Kashmir peacefully through the on-going composite dialogue." The president also extended sincere greetings to the Indian president and Indian people on his own behalf and on behalf of people of Pakistan.

PRIME MINISTER: In his separate message to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said that Pakistan was committed to the on-going composite dialogue with India for the resolution of all disputes including Jammu and Kashmir.

"I am confident that given the political will, the two countries would be able to lay a solid foundation for durable peace, progress and prosperity of peoples and indeed the entire South Asia," Mr Aziz said while felicitating the Indian prime minister on India's Republic Day.

The prime minister also offered felicitations to the Indian prime minister and Indian people on behalf of the government and the people of Pakistan and on his own behalf. -APP
