MANSHERA: Several shops looted

MANSEHRA, Jan 25: Traders have expressed concern over growing incidents of theft in Mansehra town and its adjoining areas. During Eid holidays, a number of shops were looted in various bazaars of the town.

On Shinkiari road, robbers broke into a mobile phone shop and robbed its owner of phones and pre-paid cards worth more than Rs400,000. On Bangash road, culprits broke into a general store, stole goods worth Rs20,000 and escaped. Also on Bangash road locks of another shop were broken by thieves the following day and goods worth Rs12,000 stolen.

Speaking to reporters, office-bearers of Markazi Anjuman-i-Tajiran said that an increase in theft cases in bazaars of the town had been witnessed during the past two months, causing feelings of insecurity and uncertainty among traders'.
