KARACHI, Jan 25: The Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre is organizing various programmes to celebrate the World Leprosy Day that is observed around the globe on last Sunday of January, annually.

The celebrations will begin with a press conference to be held at the Press Club to create awareness regarding the disease on Saturday.

On Sunday, a 'Leprosy Awareness Walk' will be organized, which will begin from the Mazar of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, and the participants after passing through various city roads, including Shahrah-i-Quaideen, Sharae Faisal and Dr Daudpota Road will conclude the walk at MALC off Shahrah-i-Iraq in Sadar.

The Patients' day will be observed at the MALC on Feb 2, and the Visitors' day will be observed at the MALC on February 3. The celebrations will conclude with the main event, the 52nd World Leprosy Day, and a function will beheld at the FTC Auditorium on Sharae Faisal on February 13.
