KARACHI, Jan 25: Two persons, both of them watchmen, were killed in separate incidents on Tuesday. Police said that Jani alias Mochi, 32, was killed in Bin Qasim area early on Tuesday morning.

He had been doing the job of watchman at Panhwar Market, Shahnawaz Goth, near Pipri, for the last 12 years.

On Tuesday, some unknown people came to his place and shot at him. Jani sustained serious injuries and succumbed before he could be shifted to a hospital. Police suspected some personal enmity as a possible motive behind the killing.

The other watchman, Anwer, 26, was found dead in Defence Phase-I. Police said they had received the informed that the watchman was apparently lying dead in his makeshift room built on an under-construction plot.

When they reached there, they found that he was murdered, they said, adding that the mark of bullet wound was visible in his chest. According to police, the victim hailed from Kashmir and may have been killed over some personal enmity.

SUICIDE: A 16-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his home in Mithadar area. Police said that Mohammad Alam committed suicide after being scolded by his parents over some matter. On receiving information about the incident, police recovered the body on Tuesday morning and shifted it to the Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.

EXPLOSION: Four persons sustained injuries when a gas cylinder exploded in a house in Sector 12-L of Orangi Town. The victims, three women and a middle-aged man, were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later admitted to the Civil Hospital. Their condition was stated to be stable.
