ISLAMABAD, Jan 24: The 65th Executive Committee meeting of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) being held on Wednesday will discuss among other matters, restoration of grants to 11 national federations.

The grants to these federations were frozen for their reluctance in implementing the sports policy but their cases are now being reviewed. Brig Arif Mahmud Siddiqui, the Director General of PSB told Dawn on Monday that grants to some of the federations who took part in last year's SAF Games were temporarily released before being seized again.

The federations currently not getting their annual grants are billiards and snooker, basketball, cycling, judo, kabaddi, karate, swimming, table tennis, taek wondo, weightlifting and wrestling.

Kabaddi, karate, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, weightlifting and wrestling were among 15 disciplines that were contested during the March 29 to April 7 Games in Islamabad.

Wednesday's meeting to be chaired by Federal Minister for Sports, Malik Muhammad Ajmal Khan, will discuss and approve the 2004-05 budget and consider granting affiliation to the sport of net ball. certain other administrative matters will also come up for discussion. Arif will brief the meeting on the development projects being carried out by PSB.
