ISLAMABAD, Jan 24: The Met Office on Monday forecast more rain in Balochistan and snowfall in Ziarat and Quetta and adjoining hilly areas over the next 24 hours.

A Met Office spokesman told APP that scattered rains occurred in some parts of Balochistan and Sindh on Monday.

The spokesman said that Jewani reported 50mm rain, Gwadar 27mm, Lasbela 18mm, Sibi 11mm, Nawabshah and Turbat 9mm each, Quetta 5mm, Karachi and Qalat 2mm each, while Sukkur and Hyderabad each received one millimetre rain.

Spokesman Hanif Khan said that most parts of the country were in the grip of severe cold which would continue throughout the week. The lowest temperature of minus 13 was recorded in Skardu, while the mercury dropped to minus seven in Murree. -APP
