MITHI, Jan 24: A group of residents of Mithi have expressed concern over alleged encroachment on a part of a graveyard in the town and demanded its removal.

Hamzo Khan Rind, Haji Mohammad Dal and others told reporters here on Monday that a retired head constable, Khan Muhammad Mahar, had encroached upon a part of the graveyard and recently sold it to land grabbers.

They said that the land grabbers were raising construction in the area as a result a path leading to the graveyard had been narrowed. The complainants demanded immediate removal of the encroachment and legal action against the encroachers.

FUNDS: The chairman of the Citizens' Community Board, Hirar union council of Chhachhro taluka, has called on the Devolution Trust for Community Empowerment authorities to direct the relevant functionaries to release funds for the schemes approved by the board for year 2005.

Bihar Khan Candia has alleged in a press statement that though Rs80, 000 share of the community for the schemes had been deposited in the National Bank's Chhachhro branch but some officials had refused to release the amount of government share. The chairman of the board demanded an inquiry into the matter.
