KARACHI: Governor for model society

Published January 24, 2005

KARACHI, Jan 23: Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad has asked every citizen to play his role for national prosperity and said that a model society could be established by joint national effort.

He was addressing a gathering of employees of Governor's House, who were feted on the occasion of Eidul Azha this afternoon. The governor said that Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) was one of the greatest teachings of Islam preparing every Muslim to prepare for sacrifice.

This preparation leads a pious Muslim to sacrifice for community, country and the nation. Later, the doors of Governor's House were flung open to general public who exchanged Eid greetings with Ishratul Ibad.

The governor also exchanged greetings with the members of diplomatic corps, ministers, members of parliament and high officials. A delegation of Sikhs also called on him. -APP
