LAHORE, May 28: A storm in Rawalpindi prevented Punjab governor Khalid Maqbool from returning to Lahore on Tuesday evening to visit storm-hit neighbourhoods.
The Monday night storm in Lahore had uprooted many trees and billboards and damaged overhead power lines.
Lack of power also kept water supply tubewells out of service almost throughout the city. The services had not been restored till Tuesday evening.
The governor’s visit was expected to expedite the clean-up.
Citizens wondered whether the civic agencies would restore the services without the governor’s visit.
