KARACHI: Wife beats husband to death

KARACHI, Jan 19: A middle-aged man was killed by his wife over a domestic dispute in North Karachi on Wednesday. Police said that some domestic dispute between the couple led Sara, 35, to hit her husband with a wooden stick repeatedly.

Mohammad Shafi, 55, was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he died during the treatment. Police later arrested the victim's wife. Hospital sources said victim died due to injuries in his head. Police said that the couple had two children.

ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist died in a road accident on Natives Jetty on Wednesday morning. Police said Amjad, 30, was on his motorcycle (KCN-4997) when a dumper (JT-7505) knocked him down.

Amjad died on the spot, and his body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for legal formalities. An unknown young man was crushed to death in Liaquatabad on Wednesday morning.

Police said the victim was crossing the thoroughfare near Dakhnana when a speeding bus knocked him down. The young man was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

In another similar accident, an unknown man was crushed to death near Khathore Mor on Wednesday morning. Edhi sources said the victim was in his late teens when a speeding vehicle knocked him down and sped away from the spot. The body was shifted to JPMC for legal formalities in the Edhi ambulance. Later the body was shifted to the Edhi morgue.
