QUETTA, Jan 17: A judicial tribunal constituted to probe into a case of an alleged sexual assault on a lady doctor in Sui started its proceedings on Monday. However, the lady doctor could not appear before the tribunal and said she was not in a condition to record her statement.

Justice Ahmed Khan Lashari of the Balochistan High Court is heading the judicial tribunal. DSP Dera Bugti Yaqoob Butt and investigation officer of the Sui police Mohammad Ilyas submitted their reports to the tribunal.

A letter submitted on behalf of the lady doctor said that she was not in a condition to appear before the tribunal and that she would record her statement on the next date of hearing.

The proceedings were adjourned but no date was fixed for next hearing. It is likely that the proceeding would resume after Eidul Azha holidays. The government constituted the tribunal on Jan 11 and it asked it to submit its report in 15 days.
