KHAIRPUR, Jan 17: The Sobhodero police on Monday registered a case against 40 villagers for allegedly firing on a police party. SHO police station Sobhodero lodged the FIR against the villagers, including Mazhar Ali , Lal Dino, Imam Bux, Din Mohammad, Soomar, Sikandar, Waheed Ali, Nazir Ahmad, Khair Mohammad, Umeed Ali and Mumtaz, stating that the accused had opened fire on the police party which had gone to avert a clash between two groups in the Pir Inayat Shah area. He said police had returned the fire in defence.

CASE: The Khairpur police on Sunday registered a case against 16 people for trying to forcibly occupy agriculture lands in the Warri village, Khairpur taluka.

Complainant Ghulam Haider Jagirani alleged that Meeral, Faiz Mohammad, Abdullah, Shams, Sikandar, Ameen, Ghulam Abbas, Ghulam Haider, Abdul Khaliq and others opened fire and issued him death threats to occupy his land.

GAMBLING: The Pir-Jo-Goth police on Monday booked four people, including a woman, for gambling. Police in a raid on a house in the town arrested one person while three others escaped.
